Stibo Systems, a market-leading provider of Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, will install its STEP MDM solution in Globus hypermarkets across Germany. Founded around 190 years ago, Saarland-based Globus currently operates 46 hypermarkets in Germany, plus a further 26 in Russia and the Czech Republic. The installation is a joint effort between Stibo Systems and its partner, foryouandyourcustomers.

Globus has chosen the platform to provide its customers with the most relevant possible information. The aim is to create a more positive shopping experience in-store, online and through printed sales literature. One of the first stages involves making it easier to realise the desired additional benefits for the customer. This means leveraging new and existing communications channels such as mobile apps and brochures more quickly, and also providing more personalised, regularly updated content.

Key benefits:

  • Higher quality of product and customer data
  • Provision of high-quality, broad-ranging information relevant to customers
  • STEP offers a high level of flexibility and a simple configuration, so no programming is necessary
  • STEP works alongside and supports an ERP solution such as SAP

Dr Ralf Jung, Head of Multichannel Innovation, Globus Hypermarket Holding: “Innovation is embedded in the company culture at Globus. As the retail business enters a new digital era, an integrated and sustainable multichannel strategy is needed to create an up-to-date working environment. The challenge here is to ensure that the systems and processes associated with this strategy are adopted smoothly in our stores and that they work effectively to meet the needs and expectations of our customers. In Stibo Systems and foryouandyourcustomers, we’ve found two partners who are up to the task.”

Stephan Müller, Managing Director, foryouandyourcustomers: “As part of the jointly developed multichannel strategy, we’re working with and for Globus to implement an MDM solution that will enable the efficient management of customer and product data in the future. It’s the foundation of a multichannel architecture that will provide various new ways for the company to better serve its customers. We’re delighted that Globus has chosen STEP.”

Manfred Heckt, Managing Director, Stibo Systems GmbH (Germany): “First-rate qualitative product and customer master data is a prerequisite for any multichannel or omnichannel strategy. STEP is a versatile multidomain platform from Stibo Systems that brings together the best of both approaches. With our partner foryouandyourcustomers, we’ve provided Globus with a solid foundation for their multichannel activities.”
