Interview
Norbert Grüger decorates shop windows for large and small retailers. He is annoyed with the uniform look in our pedestrian zones, but he views this as a chance for retail to set itself apart from chain stores. He encourages retailers to realize their own ideas. The help of a professional often pays off, because shop windows are a calling card and an important advertising medium.
Interview
Shop windows are the calling card of a store. How do you like our pedestrian zones?
Unfortunately, more and more small and individual stores are becoming extinct and replaced by big chain stores. I think that’s a shame, because it drastically changes the face of a pedestrian zone and creates a type of “monoculture“.
Report
At Edeka or Rewe cardboard boxes on shelves are frowned upon, but at discount stores they are the rule. They demand shelf-ready packaging from their manufacturers. The manufacturers use the cardboard boxes for marketing purposes and come up with ideas to present their product well and in a jiffy.
