DataVan, one of the world’s leading Point of Sale hardware providers, announces the availability ofthe award-winning Tango series of POS terminals.

The Tango Series of POS terminals inspires businesses to explore new opportunities and embrace the change of new technologies. The modern, harmonious industrial design, which was recognized by international judges with the Computex d&i award, fits any retail, hospitality, or point-of-service environment.

Enhance customer experience and satisfaction

Innovative and flexible features, like the flip-over design and widescreen touch display redefine how retailers can ehance their retail practicee, reducing friction and enhancing the customer experience. The bi-directional rotatable display makes it easy for employees to quickly show digital content to customers, allowing customers to take actions in real-time, e.g. enter passwords, capture signatures or confirm decisions. The display further increases marketing initiatives by allowing customer-focused, personalized promotions and services.

Supports secure payment and QR code applications

DataVan Tango terminals support fast, safe, and secure payment technologies with EMV encryption, allowing both contact and contactless card payment. The integrated 2D barcode scanner can accept third-party payment via QR codes, enabling the acquisition of e-coupons/e-tickets right from a customers’ smartphone screens, or enhances integration with loyalty programs.

Modular design and unified interface

A unified touchscreen user interface across devices cuts staff training expenses and reduces the chance of  errors. The “building block” modular design allows Tango terminals to adapt to customer needs by adding or removing functions as required, thanks to modules such as secure payment, customer display, barcode reading, and management.Optional hardware features include a 10 inch secondary LCD or VFD customer display; and identification via fingerprint, RFID or iButton. The Tango Pay contactless reader can support MSR and EMV SCR, with EMV level 1/2 approval – ensuring fast, safe and secure payments.

Strong hardware foundation

Internally, Tango terminals are based on Intel® embedded platform technology for full compatibility with the widest range of software and development tools, including Windows 10 IoT Enterprise and other Windows versions, as well as Linux. The fanless low-noise Tango 615W and 617W feature the Intel® Celeron® J1900 CPU at 2.4GHz. Some forthcoming models, such as the Tango 815W and 817W offer powerful 6th Gen Intel® Core™ CPUs. Connectivity and expansion options include seven USB ports (2x USB 3.0), two DB9 COM/Serial connectors for legacy hardware support, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, and a 12/24V RJ12 cash drawer connector. IP65 front bezel protection guards against dust and liquid spills to prolong operating life.
