The fast growing mPOS market is demanding lighter, smaller and easier to use mobile printers and Star has stepped up to the mark with two new 58mm Bluetooth printers offering increased reliability and one of the world’s first Bluetooth 4.0 mobile printers designed for today’s evolving micro merchant.

The super compact MFi certified SM-S230i features auto connect pairing for automatic Bluetooth connection with previously paired Apple iOS, Android or Windows mobile devices, making it perfect for everyday use in busy environments. From queue busting to mPOS receipting in retail and hospitality, the SM-S230i provides seamless mPOS transactions with an 80mm per second print speed, 13 hour battery life and automatic sleep mode.

With its small lightweight design, easy “Drop-In and Print” paper loading, 1.5m drop test capability that is comparatively higher than similar products, informative LED light display indicating battery life and Bluetooth connection, the SM-S230i is the ideal solution for reliable, high performance printing on the move.

In addition to this model, Star launches the SM-L200 receipt / label printer for fast low cost connection to Apple iOS, Android, Linux and Windows mobile devices. Featuring a 13 hour battery life, 35mm per second print speed, automatic sleep mode, LCD display and 1.2m drop test capability that is comparatively higher than similar products, the SM-L200 offers a reliable, low cost mPOS printing solution.

Star’s Bluetooth mobile printer range is compatible with Star WebPRNT™ Browser, simplifying direct printing from the Web as well as supporting all relevant web technologies. Using Star WebPRNT technology a single web-based application can be accessed by the browser on multiple platforms including Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, Mac OS, Blackberry and Symbian, yielding identical print output.

Annette Tarlton, Marketing Director, Star Micronics EMEA, states: “Star confirms its market leading position with an extensive range of mobile POS printers. Responding to the growth and demands of the mPOS market, Star has developed a portfolio that meets the needs of a variety of environments, budgets and end users.”
