Prize reductions with concurrent rise of the product availability. This is the basic equation to satisfy the customer. From now on the consumer has the choice. Dr. Joseph Felfeli, managing director of Acteos, has declared on the conference „Supply Chain Retail“ in Paris: The 20th century was formed by a radical sociological development: we have discovered that we have the choice.“

Two basic aspects play a determining role for the customer: the price and the availability of those products which he wants to buy. Availability means stock holding what raises necessarily the price and with this the discontent of the customer. „The quadrature of the circle must be solved, as the prices are lowered and at the same time the product availability is raised“, stressed Joseph Felfeli.

A reliable forecast allows to fix the shopping volumes as well as to control the terms for the delivery and for all supply processes (concerning the production, the transport and in the point-of-sale). This forecast allows the optimisation of the economic order amounts and processing the stock handling by concurrent rise of the customer satisfaction.

The solution Acteos PPOS allows the best possible control of the flow of goods. It was developed in several years' work in a European research project in cooperation with the University of Lausanne and is successfully installed at different enterprises.
