Distribution Degrenne selects Aldata Pack to Light to streamline order preparation

Distributor gains a 31% improvement in productivity and an extra 90 minutes per employee, per day, for order preparation with Aldata Pack to Light.

Degrenne Distribution“As a business we were faced with the need to pick and dispatch an increasing number of orders, particularly for fresh goods, with a limited number of order preparation clerks. We had also decided against warehouse automation.

"We were already working with Aldata who recommended the Pack to Light solution – it has met our requirements perfectly. Today, we have saved 3 minutes per order, which means that we have gained an extra 90 minutes per employee, per day, for order preparation. Overall, this represents a 31% improvement in productivity which is fantastic.” Sylvain David, Head of the Fresh Goods warehouse for Degrenne Distribution.

How has Aldata Pack to Light helped Degrenne Distribution

Degrenne already uses Aldata’s solution for voice directed operations in its warehouse. By adding the Pack to Light option, Degrenne order preparation operators are now able to prepare multiple orders for customers simultaneously. This has improved efficiency and gained an extra 90 minutes per day, per operator. Degrenne is now able to fulfill more orders with the same number of employees.
With Aldata Pack to Light, after being directed to a picking address, the preparation operator confirms their position by voice and then validates it by scanning or declaring a unique pivote code. Each customer tray or carton has its own unique display, which is linked by WiFI to the operator’s voice-directed terminal. Once the operator has validated their position, the display indicates the quantity of products to place in the tray or carton.

Aldata Pack to Light is the result of research and development collaboration with CIPAM, the market-leading mobility solutions provider in France. CIPAM is a member of the Aldata Mobility Alliance (AMA).
