Varlink, the York based mobile computing and data capture specialist distributor, is pleased to announce the launch of the H-27, the first Android device from Opticon, adding a new dimension to their already successful H-series family of mobile computers..

The H-27 has all the functionality of a PDA but the appearance of a Smartphone, making this device particularly suitable for mobile workers who need the combination of auto ID and business-critical information in order to carry out their work in a highly efficient way.

The H-27 delivers outstanding performance thanks to its 1.5GHz processor, aggressive barcode scanning with either an integrated 1D or 2D scanner and a host of connectivity possibilities, all packed into a rugged form factor at a competitive price point.

This device delivers a range of communication options including Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n, 3.5G, NFC, GPS and GLONASS enabling the mobile worker with real-time access to critical data, increasing productivity and increased accuracy.

Due to its ergonomic design, the H-27 is slimmer and lighter than other industrial devices, IP65 rated and a drop spec of 1.5 metres, making this device more rugged and robust than a consumer Smartphone.

The H-27 features a 4.3” display with Gorilla glass and anti-reflective coating providing durability in harsher conditions. This device also features a 5MP auto focus camera with flash LED, perfect for capturing images and information.

Equipped with 8GB flash memory and expandable data storage up to 32GB by the micro SD slot, users can back up data and manage large databases.

This feature rich H-27 provides users with a consumer facing, yet rugged device, making it ideal for mobile workforce, warehousing, healthcare, field professionals hospitality and retail environments.
