Portable Printing on the Move - White Paper from Sato

For many companies with a highly mobile workforce, label or receipt printing can be a time-costly exercise especially if workers have to return again and again to a stationery printer at a central workstation. Whether it’s for a hospital, a warehouse, a retail outlet or a delivery van, mobile printing devices can provide businesses with increased efficiency and productivity due to time saved travelling to-and-from static printing devices.

Advancements in mobile computing and wireless communication technologies have given rise to a new class of portable printers that provide workers with a host of capabilities at the point of activity. Although portable printing solutions have been available for many years, breakthroughs in size, weight, battery performance and wireless communication capabilities (such as Bluetooth and 802.11b/g) have helped introduce the technology to users in a variety of new vertical markets.
SATO, an international leader in the Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC) industry and a leader in barcode printing, labelling, and EPC/RFID solutions has released its latest white paper which gives advice on the best portable printing device solutions and how they can be implemented in various sectors.

The whitepaper ‘Portable Printing on the Move’, available on SATO’s website, details applications that mobile printing can be used for, drawing attention to size and weight factor requirements of devices within each sector. Particular detail is also given to the range of wireless options available, including the use of Bluetooth for short range working.

Commenting on the white paper Brian Lang, SATO International Europe’s Managing Director said: “There is huge potential for mobile printing solutions to help companies within any industry to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Therefore, we anticipate a strong increase in demand for these increasingly sophisticated technology solutions worldwide. As a global industry leader in performance based printing and labelling solutions, our comprehensive mobile printing offering reflects our long-term commitment and understanding of our customers’ application needs around the globe. This white paper will aid any business that is looking to implement a mobile printing solution as a way to increase the efficiency, flexibility and responsiveness of their operations”.
