Hoeft & Wessel’s subsidiary Metric again wins maintenance contract for London’s roadside ticketing machines

Turnkey service for London Bus: Supply, maintenance, cash collection, helpline

Metric Group Ltd., Swindon, United Kingdom, a company of the Hoeft & Wessel Group, succeeded in being awarded a renewed contract for maintenance of London’s roadside ticketing machines by London Bus Services Ltd. For the next three years, with two two-year extensions as an option, Metric will provide London Buses with all roadside ticketing maintenance, helpline service and cash collection from a single source. With this long-term service contract, Metric ensures sustainable sales revenues for the next several years.

London Bus Services Ltd. is part of Transport for London, the integrated body responsible for the Capital’s transport system. London Buses manages one of the largest urban bus networks in the world, with over 2.25 billion passengers every year.

With its renewed maintenance contract, Metric emphasizes its leading role as a full service provider for ticketing vending machines. In the United Kingdom, Hoeft & Wessel's business units Metric and Almex make it one of the leading suppliers of car parking and ticketing systems as well as comprehensive services.

Metric has been in charge of the turnkey service of more than 1,100 roadside ticketing machines since 2002. All ticketing machines are checked every day, all faults must be resolved in less than 1 hour and Metric’s customer call centre offers a helpline for customers. This full service is offered 24 hours a day on 364 days a year.

In the first quarter of this year, Metric succeeded in acquiring a large-scale order for more than 1,000 park ticket vending machines for the City of Philadelphia, New Jersey, USA. Metric is a member of the German IT and engineering group Hoeft & Wessel, whose products and solutions focus on public transport, parking as well as the retail sector and logistics.
