Bizerba presents the iS25-Ex and iS30-Ex weighing terminals as two new solutions for hazardous areas. In addition, the existing iS50-Ex was redesigned and equipped with entirely new hardware. Bizerba thus completes its comprehensive solution portfolio for hazardous areas, which consists of weighing terminals and a broad selection of different load receptors.

From manual weighing to filling, inspecting, commissioning, and documentation: Being highly reliable, the weighing terminals for hazardous areas and the variety of load receptors from Bizerba‘s iL range are specifically designed for hazardous areas. Ranging from solutions for simple weighing and inspection applications to fully programmable industrial weighing terminals with many connected load receptors, Bizerba‘s solutions meet the most diverse requirements, offering optimum functionality even in the most severe production environments. Complying with highest hygiene and safety standards, they also feature optimum long-term precision and wear resistance.

Straightforward, Secure Handling

The iS25-Ex weighing terminal is compact and reliable, providing full functionality even in Ex zone 1/21. The device delivers precise results even in time-critical applications. Integrated applications additionally enable effective weighing, counting and inspection processes. Components including optical tolerance inspection with traffic-light functionality ensure fast data transfers, efficient handling and smooth processes, with red, yellow and green LEDs indicating the weighing result to operators in a quick and unambiguous way. Tare weights can be entered straightforwardly using the numerical keypad, and weighing data can be forwarded to high-level systems via suitable interfaces. In addition, the iS25-Ex provides a Wi-Fi service interface and four inputs and outputs each. As an option, Profibus DP IS or TTY interfaces or an analog output can also be included.

Added Flexibility in Hazardous Areas

Providing individual mounting options, the iS30-Ex is a flexible solution for applications in hazardous areas. The iS30-Ex can be mounted on walls, tables, control panels or VESA 100 mountings. A variety of interfaces and software programs ensure error-free results and end-to-end transparency across the entire supply chain. Fast weighing and safe data transfers are provided even if two load receptors are connected. Operators can constantly view all relevant information using the user-friendly full-graphics display with LED backlight.

The weighing terminal thus combines excellent ergonomics and optimum operator convenience. Intuitive operation is ensured by large keys with a mechanical pressure point and acoustic feedback. The alphanumeric keyboard can be used for data-input and selection tasks even with gloves. In addition, process data can be entered via four individually programmable function keys and four additional applications keys. The performance spectrum of the industrially designed, rugged weighing terminal is complemented by optional applications for statistics, single-component dispensing or registration databases.

User Flexibility

Using the integrated soft PLC, the iS50-Ex can be perfectly matched to individual customer requirements even in Ex zone 1/21. Thanks to Codesys and Development Kit, the weighing terminal is also freely programmable. With its variety of interfaces and software solutions, a wide selection of applications is available also in harsh production environments. For instance, the iS50-Ex enables reliable, precise dispensing and counting applications including tolerance inspections and statistical applications.

Like the iS30-Ex, the iS50-Ex features an alphanumeric keyboard for quick and easy production-data entry. The large 7-inch display provides the necessary overview in any process step. Furthermore, the terminal features a full QWERTY keyboard including a numeric pad as well as navigation and function keys and special keys for the most important weighing functions. In its latest generation, the re-designed iS50-Ex includes a new processor meeting any performance requirements especially with respect to specific customer needs. Just like the other terminals from Bizerba for hazardous areas, the iS50-Ex features a molded power supply integrated into the standard enclosure. The rugged, sealed stainless-steel enclosure also features high water and dust resistance.
