Torex Retail J-POS makes Dutch Debut with Siebel Juweliers

Siebel Juweliers, the largest Dutch jewellery chain, has selected the end-to-end store solution Torex Retail J-POS from Torex Retail Holdings Limited (Torex™), the leading European-based global provider of software and solutions for the worldwide retail market. During the course of this year, Siebel Juweliers, the winners of the ‘Retail Chain of the Year’ award in 2007, will be the first Dutch company to deploy the solution at all of its branches, along with new touch screen POS systems.
Siebel Juweliers chose Torex Retail J-POS because it provides an end-to-end solution which requires minimal customisation prior to installation. As part of the deal, Torex will implement, maintain and tailor the Torex Retail J-POS platform for Siebel Juweliers in 42 branches across the Netherlands. In addition, it will set up HP RP5700 POS systems with touch screens in all of Siebel’s branches.

Torex Retail J-POS is an innovative and standards-based POS platform. Its strengths lie in the combination of its end-to-end functionality and broad deployment capabilities on the shop floor as well as at the head office. Important features, which ultimately influenced Siebel Juweliers’ decision to select the system include:

  • Stock information integrated into the system – the staff at Siebel Juweliers will have direct access to stock, pricing and promotion details, allowing them to provide customers with instant advice.
  • Back-office functionality at the point of service – all previously manual or head office back-office procedures will be available at the POS.
  • Reporting is available from any location – store managers will be able to request real-time reports and statistics at any POS.
  • Direct email exchange between stores and head office and inter-branch – seamless email will mean faster and more efficient communication.

Edwin Rothert, CFO, Siebel Juweliers said: “Our new store concept is designed to enhance the experience for the customer, requiring a system that enables our staff to respond instantaneously to customer queries. With Torex we have witnessed how its integrated approach based on Torex Retail J-POS is highly supportive of our pursuit of continuous improvement in our stores and at head office. Our close collaboration with Torex will allow us to fully implement the solution in a relatively short time frame.”

Graeme Cooksley, president and COO, Torex said: “We are delighted that Siebel Juweliers has selected Torex Retail J-POS for its integrated store concept. This decision validates our strategic approach to deliver integrated solutions that require minimal customisation to create added value for our clients.”
“This contract is unique to the luxury goods sector in the Netherlands, and underscores our ability to improve the competitive advantage and productivity for retailers in the Netherlands. The customer experience plays a crucial role in the purchase of luxury goods such as jewellery. Our solution will provide a a tangible contribution to the success of Siebel Juweliers’ aim to provide a defining customer experience as well as improving internal procedures.”
