Torex launches next version of Retail POS Solution

Latest upgrade offers compatibility with enhancing add-on services

Torex Retail Holdings Limited (Torex™), the leading global provider of innovative, integrated technology solutions to the extended retail marketplace, today launches version 9 of its flagship Torex™ Retail POS solution. The new release demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to developing the platform, and incorporates a number of retail focus group led improvements that help retailers realise greater return on their investment.

The new Torex Retail POS 9 system offers plug-and-play integration with the best-in-breed Business Analysis, Loss Prevention, Loyalty and Mobile POS solutions currently offered by Torex, as well as a wide range of complementary services that support the platform. Features that can now be added include mobile phone top up from ePay, cross channel e-Gifting from Givex, dynamic currency conversion and tax-free trading; a large number of innovative new applications from third-party vendors are also currently in development. By acting as a single platform from which retailers can incorporate these extra features, Torex Retail POS 9 offers a simple, streamlined and cost-effective way for them to expand the scope of their in-store technology.

Torex Retail POS 9 provides an integral card payments system allowing retailers to significantly reduce transaction times and to lower the costs of card processing. This system also delivers enhanced card payment protection by incorporating the PCI PA-DSS compliant security measures built in to previous versions.

Through its unique card payment system integration layer, “EFT LINK”, Retail POS also provides integration with over 40 international, specialist card payment and processing services. This allows retailers to exploit the very latest innovations in card number tokenization, significantly reducing the cost and the burden of PCI compliance for individual stores within a retailer’s estate.

With live installations of Torex Retail POS now active in over 25 countries across the world, the latest version has been enhanced with additional international capabilities, making it easy for retailers with a presence in a number of countries to adapt their system to fit local currency, taxation and legislative guidelines.

Torex is also in the process of extending the multi-channel capabilities of the Torex Retail POS platform, helping retailers integrate their e-commerce and store operations. As well as the cross-channel features offered by integration with additional modules such as Torex Loyalty, further enhancements scheduled for the coming year will include the ability to validate refunds of goods purchased online, in-store, and wider support for ‘click and collect’ services that bridge the two channels.

Commenting on the launch, Doug Hargrove, Chief Marketing Officer, Torex, said: “We are delighted to announce the next step in our product roadmap for Torex Retail POS, highlighting our continued support for our retail customers and our dedication to the continual improvement of our product offering. We have committed over 40 man years of development time to making sure that Torex Retail POS 9 offers the most comprehensive range of features to our customers. The addition of plug-and-play compatibility with dozens of applications developed by external software vendors ensures that the platform will continue to support the latest and most innovative retail services and applications.”
