Zoom Media has renewed its media and advertising contracts with four UK health and fitness brands. The network provides national brand owners with the opportunity to advertise to a hard-to-reach 14.2 million (measured by swipecard data) affluent gym-goers who are typically low consumers of traditional TV advertising.

The network is designed to entertain and engage the audience, with music videos and branded content which features in-gym promotions relevant to each health club and targeted advertising messages from national and local advertisers.

The long-term exclusive contract renewals are with Everyone Active, Kinetica, Harpers and De Vere Village Hotels and these will see Zoom operating a white labelled, bespoke digital audio video media network across the 180 fitness and health centres these health brands operate between them. Zoom will be upgrading and installing its suite of high definition media products including digital signage and overhead entertainment, customised music TV programming and communication functions that enable health club members to engage and make choices about their gym experience.

Zoom will also continue to handle all digital advertising opportunities on behalf of the leisure groups through both its national and regional sales teams. These sales teams can now offer their brand partners high impact advertising opportunities through over 4000 screens in 700 locations. To optimise reach and opportunities to view, Zooms’ screens are placed in the areas of highest dwell time within the health clubs owned by network members, which also include Virgin Active, Fitness First and David Lloyd. The renewed contracts strengthen Zoom’s position as the leading provider of Gym Media, with an extensive geographical reach for implementing major national multi-media campaigns, with the ability to blend digital advertising with ambient advertising and experiential activity.

Zoom already has an enviable list of advertisers on its books, with a focus on upmarket, active and/or health brands including BMW, O2, Adidas, Marks & Spencer and Colgate, along with other brands in the holiday, music and film sectors.

Alex Peacock, Managing Director at Zoom, commented, “With these contracts now in place we are in a better place than ever to provide dominant, cutting edge advertising solutions for both our brand and health club partners. Getting renewed commitment from our health club partners demonstrates the effectiveness of our offering and further boosts our credibility as the ‘go to’ media network for advertisers wanting to access healthy, upmarket consumers in a relaxed and effective environment.”

Neil King, Commercial Director for Everyone Active, commented: “Zoom’s programming has formed a key part of Everyone Active’s communication and entertainment proposition for over six years now and we are delighted to renew this partnership as we continue to grow and develop the company.”
